H5N1 Strain of Avian Influenza A ---New Monoclonal Antibodies
PSC-PM-4005 Monoclonal Antibody to Influenza A (avian) (H5N1) Hemagglutinin (4F1F2)
PSC-PM-4006 Monoclonal Antibody to Influenza A (avian) (H5N1) Hemagglutinin (4H1C10)
ProSci, Inc., of Poway, California, has released new monoclonal antibodies that specifically detect the H5N1 strain of Avian Influenza.
The H5N1 influenza virus has been subject to genetic drift and viral recombination so an important advantage with these antibodies is that they are specific to relatively well-conserved regions of the viral sequence. Peptides derived from viruses from Indonesian human patients infected in 2007 could be detected using these antibodies.
